Hint: you can enter a Spotify URI in any of the search forms to decode it, example.

There is a few options you can use when searching (undocumented in the API, so this is experimental!).

• To search for an album or track by a specific artist you can use: love song artist:jackson.
  
• To search for newly added albums or tracks use: tag:new in your search (love song tag:new).
  
• Limit albums or tracks to a specific year (or span of years): rock year:1980 / rock year:1980-1990.
  
• If you are looking for music released on a specific label use: you me label:Universal, label:Hallmark.
  
• To find albums or tracks from a specific genre use: love genre:Disco (iffy behavior) (Spotify genre list).
  

You can search using the OR, AND (+) or NOT (-) operators (default is AND), madonna OR eminem, elvis NOT costello, music NOT madonna.
